Holidays in Florida

The state of Florida, also known as the Sunshine State due to the comfortable warm environment, is a wonderful place for a family and friends to start out a vacation. Located in the south-eastern United States, this state is bordered by Alabama, Georgia, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic Ocean. Three major cities in Florida are Miami, Tallahassee, and Jacksonville.
Florida is famous for many different things. One of the greatest things about Florida is that it is reach in historical value, and not just from one spot. Florida can proudly claim its ancestry to Spain, Great Britain, and France. The oldest city in the United States, St Augustine, was established by Spain in 1565. This makes Florida a great spot for any history buffs wishing to visit places of historical importance.
Florida is often most renowned for the beautiful Everglades National Park located in its southern region. This park has been declared a World Heritage Site as well as an International Biosphere Reserve. The Everglades are also known as a Wetland of International Importance. For people who have a love and interest in the flora and fauna of Florida, there is an endless amount that calls this place home. The American crocodile, Florida panther, and West Indian manatee are just a few of the animals that can be found here. Massive stretches of mangrove trees are common along the coastline of the everglades. Mangrove trees are extremely important in keeping the banks from becoming eroded and have a great value to the Everglades and Florida.
The climate of Florida is one of the best in the world, which is why this state is one of the most visited places for tourists (who can use Deakchecker to book cheap holidays to Florida) both in and outside of the United States. Temperate rains cool even the hottest days and ocean breezes help to keep beachgoers cool during the hot days. The highest recorded temperature in Florida was 109 degrees. This temperature was surely no problem for people as there are plenty of shading palm trees, wading and tidal pools, and stretches of beautiful ocean to take their minds off the heat. For people who like it a bit cooler, the Florida Keys make a great home away from home. This group of islands have a moderate temperature of around 60 to 90 degrees on a yearly basis, making it a hotspot for people who want a constant temperature throughout the year.
